Pep Rally for Volleyball Team-Tomorrow @ 12:15 in Cafeteria

There will be a rally for the women's volleyball team tomorrow afternoon in the cafeteria @ 12:15pm. Their will an opportunity to see a slide show of the highlights of the season in addition to hearing the captains talk about their magical year. The volleyball team will also be signing autographs of their District G championship team picture.

This is a very exciting time for the volleyball team and we hope you can come show them support as they get ready to depart for the national tournament in Minnesota! Go Chargers!

Edison State Defeats Howard in Bid for National Championship

NJCAA Region XII Division III Volleyball Champion, Edison State Community College defeated Howard Community College in 5 games, 30-23, 24-30, 30-16, 28-30, 15-12.

Jessica Girod lead Edison State with 33 kills. Roshelle Wattercutter added 23 kills. Each was set by Clair Frantz who posted 62 assists for the match.

Edison State goes into the NJCAA Division III Volleyball National Championships with an overall record of 25-5. The tournament will begin November 17th in Rochester Minnesota.

What a Match!

Host school Edison State Community College Athletic Director, Chip Hare, said it best in his introduction to the 2006 Region XII Division III Volleyball Championship award ceremony, "It's a shame one of these teams had to lose." In a battle on the road to a national championship two of the nations best teams met last night. It was even until the end.

Edison State Community College out battled Columbus State Community College 3-2 for the honor of representing Region XII in a qualifying match for the NJCAA National Division III Volleyball Championships. Both these Ohio Community College Athletic Conference schools have been ranked in the top ten of the National Junior College Athletic Association's Division III Volleyball Poll. Edison State CC is currently number 5 in the nation. Both teams showed their caliber last night. Every point was fought for, every point earned.
Final game scores were 38-36, 30-28, 26-30, 28-30, 15-8.

Edison State Community College next plays Howard Community College in Columbia Maryland. Match details and results will be posted when available on the Region XII web site

Lady Chargers win again!

11/1/06-Edison Chargers capture Region XII, Division 3 volleyball championship by defeating Columbus State 38-36, 30-28, 25-30, 28-30, 15-10. The Edison Volleyball Team will travel to Howard Community College in Maryland for their next match on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m.
