Last Home Volleyball Game

I wanted to invite all of the Edison Family to the last home volleyball match of the year. As you all of you know the volleyball team has had a fantastic year and many have commented to me that they want to get out and watch our team play. This email is to encourage all of you to come and support our Chargers on! We would like to pack the gym and create a home court advantage for our team!

The volleyball team earned the right to host the first tournament game because of their strong conference record. Edison will host Columbus State @ 6:00 on Wednesday November 1. Like Edison, Columbus State has had a good season and ironically they are nationally ranked as well. There has been a natural rivalry that has developed between the two teams throughout the season. The match should be intense and fun to watch!

If our Chargers are victorious on Wednesday, they will travel to Columbian, Maryland on Friday to play Howard Community College to play for the district championship and the right to participate in the national tournament in Rochester, Minnesota.

This is an exciting time for the volleyball program and hopefully you can be there to cheer them on to a victory on Wednesday. Let's go Chargers!

Volleyball Team Receives National Ranking

Our Edison Chargers have received national recognition in the latest NJCAA Division III (Non-scholarship Division) volleyball poll. In the latest poll released today by the NJCAA, Edison Community College is ranked # 7 nationally.

Currently our volleyball team is in the midst of a 5 game winning streak with an overall record of 17-4. Last week our Chargers defeated Lakeland. C.C., Southern State C.C., and Clark State C.C.

Edison begins a challenging 5 game road swing beginning tonight when they travel to Toledo to take on Owens C.C. The volleyball team will then leave Friday afternoon for two important matches against Lorain County C.C., and Columbus State C.C.. Ironically Owens is ranked #18 in Division II (Scholarship Division) and Columbus State is ranked # 8 in Division III. Our Chargers have their hands full in the coming weeks but it is nice to see the volleyball team being recognized on a national level. Go Chargers!
